PINOT NOIR 2010

The wine is deeply coloured with purple and red hues. An elegant wine with a bouquet of lifted ripe cherry, plum, raspberry and violets. The mouth feel is luscious with progressive flavours of rich sweet plum, cherry, with hints of leather and some minerality. A complex wine, concentrated with velvet tannins and a long finish. Enjoy now or cellar for approximately 8 years.

ARCHANGEL PINOT NOIR 2010 (4.5 Star Rating)
Grown in the Cromwell Basin, this single-vineyard red is boldly coloured, with mouthwatering body and highly concentrated cherry, plum and spice flavours. Gently oaked and vibrantly fruity. It shows good cellaring potential.

Michael Cooper – WINESTATE 250th Issue

The 2010 Pinot Noir displays a medium ruby-purple color and aromas of red currants, black cherries and cranberries over hints of moss covered bark and cinnamon stick. Medium-bodied, it offers a very good concentration of red berry and earthy flavors with a medium level of grainy tannins, crisp acid and a long finish. Drinking now, it should keep to 2015.

Lisa Perrotti-Brown – erobertparker.com 2012

93/100 – Plenty of detail to the fruit on the nose of this offering from Archangel. Bright black cherry, plum and blackberry combine with five spice, duck consomme, chocolate and raspberry compote to provide a heady brew. Substantial ripe, fine tannin, bright acidity and a lingering finish wrap up a delicious wine.

90/100 (OUTSTANDING) – INTERNATIONAL WINE CELLAR – Stephen Tanzer Sept/Oct 2013
Good bright medium red.  Savory aromas of red berries, cherry and earth, complicated by a balsamic note.  Juicy, spicy and dry, offering noteworthy intensity to its musky red berry flavors.  Serious, uncompromising pinot noir with an intriguing mineral component.  Still tightly wound but the finish shows very good energy, sneaky length and a light touch.

88/100 – WINE SPECTATOR

93/100 – 5 STARS (Outstanding quality showing varietal purity and exemplifying regional type)
A beautifully maturing pinot, the sweetly fragrant bouquet shows dark berry, floral, cedar and earthy mushroom characters, leading to a generously flavoured palate that is ripe, silky and smooth to the finish. Lovely integration and harmony from the bottle maturation, this is very seductive and charming. At its best: now to 2017.
